The RWA will delay opening HazWaste Central until May 30, 2020, in order to protect customers, employees and volunteers. The RWA will continue to monitor the presence of COVID-19 in Connecticut and will announce any further delays deemed necessary. When HazWaste Central does open, measures will be in place to encourage social distancing for the protection of those present on collection days.

The Consumers’ Annual Report on Water Quality provides information about the RWA’s sources of drinking water, shows water quality test results for 2019 and contains other important information about tap water and health. The Regional Water Authority (RWA) encourages customers to ease their financial burden by seeking assistance through the company’s Residential Water Assistance Program. To help households in need pay their water bills, the RWA offers grants of up to $175 through its Residential Water Assistance Program to customers living at or below 175% of the Federal Poverty Income Level. The RWA will not shut off any customer’s water service due to nonpayment until at least April 30, but is reminding customers of this additional assistance available to help them during this difficult time.
